When trading into emerging markets, buy-side traders must pull together very disparate sources of information and use a wide network of counterparties in order to find liquidity and pricing.

For investment managers moving into new markets, the ability to scale up operations based on existing relationship and technology can be challenging. For firms with an established presence, the capacity to increase engagement by volume or across markets is reliant on a network effect.
