What US bond traders used to help investors in brutal 2022 market

The first half of 2022 was very tough on bond investors, as rates rose to combat inflation and central banks simultaneously reduced asset purchasing programmes while war raged in Europe.

We were given time by three highly experienced institutional bond traders: Chris Coccoluto of Manulife Investment Management; Mike Nappi of Parametric; and Anthony Cucinotta of Capital Advisors Group, to discuss how this market looked to buy-side trading desks, how they handled patchy liquidity and volatile prices, and which routes they found to deliver best execution for investors.
